Anybody can do good works and have a “ministry”. Unbelievers can too! But the ministry that we have is based on something else – love. While unbelievers do good works to gain themselves entrance to heaven, we do so in obedience to the two greatest commandments: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”(Matthew 22:37, 39) Only with genuine love can we have the kind of ministry God wants.
As part of our meeting, we had an activity in which the girls had to read a biography about a missionary and then come up with a way to present it creatively to the rest. Here are some pictures of them working on that assignment...
Natalie, Kyrianna, Taran and Gabrielle reading their biography of David Brainerd.
Nicole, Petra, Abigail and Amber working on William Carey's story.
Amiel, Danielle, Wei Lyn and Kimberly learning about the life of Hudson Taylor
Joanna, Destiny, Naomi and Danielle reading about David Livingston.
Their presentations were both entertaining and informative:)
I hope you all had fun and learned lots!
