Bright Lights crop...continued...

Our first Bright Lights crop ever was yesterday...as Carmen has mentioned.

We had a total of 8 girls attend. It was a fun time of scrapbooking and fellowshipping as we worked hard on our pages.

Anyways, thank you, those of you who traveled all the way to my house for the crop and for those of you who didn't come, we really missed you!

Ministry outing on 21 December

Thank you, those of you who came for our 2nd Bright Lights ministry outing last Friday.

The manager at the elderly care centre (Simon) we visited was very impressed and expressed his thanks a few times;)

I also really thank God for His strength, especially when I had to give the forgiveness heart talk. It was probably my first speech in Chinese so I was really nervous...but it also helped that Simon helped interpretate so it didn't feel like I was talking alone.

Be encouraged, by God's grace we have planted seeds in these elderly's life that will hopefully bear fruit.

Okay, now on to the photos...

At the moment, I have only this one photo (courtesy of Danielle) I'll post more when I get more pictures from Pris;)

Smile!!

That's all then...have a great day ahead and hope to see you all soon!

P.S. Our next Bright Lights meeting will probably be on 7th January 2008.

Ministry Outing on 17 December

So...how did all of you find our first ever ministry outing? (Pls post comments;)

Well, as for me, I was really tired at the end of it all! We were hurrying here and there for almost all the time. My favourite programme of the day was the one at the child care centre. The kids were really responsive and it was GREAT to teach them. I'm sure many of you must feel the same way!

I want to encourage all of you and thank you for doing a good job!
I could really see some of you making an effort to help. Thank you!

Anyways, I said I would post some pictures...so here they are ;)

Our singing practice

Pris, Evan & I doing our chalk talk

Singing...falalalala...I mean umm, Silent night;)

Our musical performance.

(Oh yes, thanks so much, violinists, clarinetist(?) and cellist, for agreeing to play even though I gave you such short notice;)

The children at the child care learning the Gratefulness song

Hannah and Elizabeth Fong explaining the candy cane legend

Danielle teaching the origami star craft

Evan, also teaching the star origami craft.

And finally, our group photo at our last stop of the day. Its really by God's grace that we're still smiling so happily at the end of our long day.

So, hope you all had as great an experience as I did.
And for those of you who didn't join us on this outing, hope you can join us the next time!

Cheers;)

Christmas Fishing! (Jolynn's team)

The name Christmas Fishing sounds intresting! And yes it is!
Both the teams had lots of fun around the condo handling out tracts, caroling and much more!
We thank God for stoping the rain and giving us all boldness in our speaking and our presentations:)

Here are the pictures of Jolynn's team!

Team members: Danielle, hannah, Amanda, Petra, Faith, Elizabeth, and Priscilla.

Discussion time!

Rush! Rush! Rush!

Great planning brings great success!

Thank God once again for giving us a GREAT time showing others God's love:)

God bless you! And thank you for reading.

Christmas Fishing! (Evan's team)

I thought both teams did a great job with our Christmas Fishing activity last Bright Lights meeting. Hope you all had as much fun as I did :) I'm posting Evan's group's pictures and videos in this post and Phoebe will be posting the pictures from my team in another post.

For those of you who were't there, here's what the girls had to collect as part of our Christmas fishing activity:

A video of:
team giving out 50 tracts to adults
team singing 3 carols in 2 different places
team explaining the candy cane story to 20 children
2 different team members taking a Christmas Survey

A photo of:
a Christmas tree
someone kissing a star
something red
something white

Note: neither team was able to complete all the tasks due to the incessant rain which kept the residents of the condo indoor. Thankfully, the rain stopped just before we started our activity but still, there were few people around to witness to.

Girl's in Evan's group: Joy, Carmen, Danielle, Phoebe, Sarah and Grace

Joy kissing a "star"

I don't know who's idea this was but it sure is creative!

A christmas stocking

Evan's group singing silent night in Chinese to a man -- umm, I think this was the man they complained about who kept smoking while they sang ;)

Evan sharing the candy cane legend with some little girls they found at the playground. We must have given these poor girls a fright! Both teams spotted them at the same time and rushed to reach them...*sigh* Evan's team ran faster...

They had more videos but I won't be posting all of them here as it will take too long. Great work everyone! Thanks for being so game in completing the tasks I gave you ;)

Gateway kid's camp

I wanted to show you some photos of the Gateway kid's camp in Malacca, last Bright Lights meeting but didn't manage to...anyway...

The focus for the camp was "Run, leap and soar" Taken from Isaiah 40:29-31.

here's a picture of my team

me teaching about how small lies that we tell can grow into bigger lies, as illustrated by the jacob's ladder.
